Maintenance & Facilities Assistant

We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance & facilities Assistant for the opportunity to fill our full time role at our Newcastle site. The Maintenance & Facilities assistant supports the Management team by completing general and technical maintenance of all facilities. Fundamentally the role is to multitask and assist in the smooth execution of numerous daily activities.

The successful applicants will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the up keep of the building through completing tasks as and when required.
  • Provide “handyperson” duties such as repairs; basic plumbing, carpentry, painting and electrical works etc
  • Conducting periodic Health & safety checks including fire equipment & alarm checks, emergency lighting checks, legionella checks etc
  • Health & Safety management and ensure COSHH legislation is adhered to

Selection Criteria

  • +2 year experience in a similar role
  • Experienced in building and equipment maintenance, with a general understanding of plumbing, electrical, painting & carpentry
  • Customer Service experienced and focused
  • Attention to detail and high standards
  • Experience in Health & Safety and COSHH legislation management
  • Ability to work independently
  • Enjoys manual labour/working with hands
  • Strong communication skills
  • City and Guilds certificate (electrical, plumber, gas etc) or equivalent
  • Certificate to operate scissor and tower lifts

Desirable

  • Risk Proof/Shield safety experience
  • Procure Wizard experience
  • Level 3 Health & safety course (or equivalent)
  • HSE first aid qualification
